Counsel you on personal issues other than guidance as it relates to your career. If other issues arise we are happy to refer you to the appropriate professional.

OUR SERVICES

Individual or group career programs are available.

For individuals we are able to offer our service on a face-to-face basis in Mackay, Queensland but we understand that people have busy lives, are not always able to get to an appointment during normal business hours or live elsewhere. Therefore, our career programs are mainly delivered remotely. That is, we are able to send you materials via mail or e-mail and then talk to you over the phone or using Skype and liaise further via e-mail, phone or Skype – whatever suits your situation (and your internet speed). HAVING A LIFE

Work and/or career is important for many people, it usually gives satisfaction, a sense of belonging, structure to the day and very importantly, pays the bills, but don’t forget to have a life outside of work.

For a variety of reasons, one day you might not be able to go to work and if your identity and personal worth is tied to your work, you will be in for a big shock. Hobbies, activities, travel, family and friends are important for your wellbeing and also may provide a whole new enjoyable work avenue you have never thought about.

CAREER CONTINUUM, WHAT THE?

There is no such thing as the perfect job. Over time your life situation changes, the economic and technological environment changes, your interests develop.

If you are self-aware (what you enjoy doing, the skills you have, your aptitudes, the type of environment you like to work in, etc) you can establish what range of work suits you, rather than just honing in on one particular job or career.

By having a range of possibilities (ie career continuum) you can find work that suits you, no matter the changes that occur in your life and you are more likely to see and take advantage of opportunities as they arise.
